The annual Oktoberfest at Wunder Garten will feature five weekends chock-full of German food, music, contests, décor, and of course lots of beer!

Although this year’s Oktoberfest will adhere to DC’s COVID-19 guidelines and emphasize safety, it will not be any less festive. The team at Wunder Garten has assembled a great line up of activities and specials that will entertain you, tantalize the taste buds, and create lasting memories.

Revelers will sip on beers in the Märzen-style hailing from Bavaria's oldest breweries like Spaten, Franziskaner, and Hofbräuhaus, as well as the best Oktoberfest, brews from local and regional breweries like Devils Backbone, Great Lakes Brewing, Port City Brewing, and Sam Adams Brewery. Oktoberfest beer flights will be available, and guests will be able to purchase their beers in one liter steins which can be kept as a souvenir. Featured Oktoberfest beers include:

The Federalist Pig, winner of Washingtonian Magazine’s 2019 Best of Washington Reader’s Poll – Best Barbecue, will provide an authentic pig-roast every Friday. A Bavarian delicatessen and mainstays, Caliburger and La Buena Empanadas, will offer additional fare to satiate the palette.

The popular Steinholding contests will be back with some minor COVID-19 adjustments. How do you participate? During your Wunder Garten visit purchase a souvenir stein from your server or bartender. Then pose (arm fully up and extned...no cheating ☺). Then have a friend time you and take a picture, then post and tag our social media channels @wundergartendc. The time to beat from last year is 2 minutes and 10 seconds.

 

Oktoberfest will also have raffles and giveaways. Prizes include:

 

• Authentic Dirndl outfit,

• Authentic Lederhosen outfit,

• Devil's Backbone Brewery stuffed full of giveaways, and

• A 2-hour cabana rental with a $100 drink voucher at Wunder Garten.

Dogtoberfest returns to the festivities every Sunday from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 p.m. with a guest appearance by Woof Bowl “Food Truck for Dogs” on Sunday, October 11, and October 18. Dogs and (their hoomans) are encouraged to dress up for the events.
